Soda and Running

Today was a good day. Got to work and swapped in a battery for one of the vehicles—hopefully, it just needed a solid charge and isn’t a bad alternator causing it to drain or fail to charge. I drove the kiddos around today since our main driver was out. Got to hang out at the park for about an hour where I worked on some requirements; it was partly cloudy and breezy, with pretty comfortable temperatures. It definitely helped that I kept a hand towel wet with cool water from the fountain to stay fresh. The day seemed to fly by.

Came home, sat down for a brief rest, and then headed out for a 5-mile run. Running on a level surface makes a massive difference! I planned a flat route to get the miles in, and it felt night-and-day compared to my 4-mile run the other day. As far as I can remember, I’ve never run more than 4 miles until today. I felt ok—not amazing, but ok—and finished in 52 minutes.

Dinner was really good: rotisserie chicken sandwiches with SunChips, plus a banana with blueberries. I had a huge craving to grab an ice-cold Coke from the garage—ahh, and it’s only Day 3! Finishing up a few quick things now before hitting the shower and hopefully getting a solid night’s sleep. Hope everyone has had a great start to their week.
