I had an awesome day today I had a great nights rest especially after all the jogging yesterday. My brother called me early this morning so we talked for awhile until I had to let him go for a bit but I let him know I would call him back since his day had already started on the wrong foot. After a productive start to my morning I headed out for a bit to search for my morning coffee. I didn't want to return to Starbucks as my $7 milkshake was tasty but had no kick. So instead I just left out for my Twin's house. Turns out she had part of the day off because she had a doctors appointment so I actually got to see her during the daytime. She had to return to her school around 12:30 so I still had plenty of time to spend with her. After Sharis left for work Brian, Pancake and Finn aka Da Boys took over the crib. I relaxed a bit longer but Brian had some meetings and it was about time for me to head into the Dojang anyhow. Well that was fortunate seeing as how the Uber took about 32 mins to get to my first location because of "wait time despite many drivers being available." I still made it in with plenty of time since I left out early. When I arrived at the Dojang I got the privilege of helping out the After School class with their instruction today. I think everyone did a awesome job and really worked hard throughout the class most of the students stayed well engaged and tried their best. I also got to help out with Junior Tiger classes today. We worked on teamwork we built the plank people bridges, passed the target with our feet while saying each others names and played the over under game. All the students showed exemplary teamwork and earned their yellow stripe. I then had the pleasure of enjoying a sparring class with Master Oppy. He made sure we stretched well as always and then we worked on our basic defensive blocks for sparring. After several round we picked back up our work utilizing the cut kick and the kick combos we previously added off of that. The twist this time however we needed to use a partner whose job it was to defend the kicks and counter after your cut kick and counter. The drill went really well and lead into and excellent sparring session to end class. My last class of the evening was Black Belt class with Master Kavasos. I'm very biased but he is one of my favorite instructors because he always is very stringent yet flexible when it comes to his teachings and the way he approaches martial arts in general. I understand that I have tons to learn from all the Master and Instructors which is why I love being a student here their are a lot of amazing people who help to make this place unique and perfect for me. That being said very respectfully I try to learn exactly the same way from Master Kavasos as other but at times its difficult. Its because even after a long time of being around him I humbly understand how well he could dismantle my being. That makes it hard to focus when you see someone who despite his age could have you on a knee screaming uncle in seconds. He always does a great job teaching at a pace everyone can handle maintaining a safe environment and breaking down his freakishly fast movements into more bite size pieces that us neophytes learn the proper technique. I don't know exactly what kind of hard work Master Kavasos put in to get where he is at in his life but I aspire to work that hard to get as close to his skill and knowledge as possible. I'm going to work on some things this evening then I'm going to kick my feet up watch Lupin and crash. Take care y'all.
