Met at the park to do requirements....and went swimming today
Today I went to the park with Jonathan and we did our requirements. Then him and his brother came over and swam with me and my brother. It was a lot of fun.

What a beautiful day it was outside today! It put a bounce in my step when I was doing my miles. J I felt better today and was able to knock out all of my requirements before lunchtime. Then I spent some time with my kids, which I haven’t been able to do much lately. I wonder sometimes if people realize when they sign up for the black belt cycle that their family kind of signs up too. You have to sacrifice time with your family to get your requirements done, to practice your curriculum, and to attend all of the extra classes. My family has to put up with my bad mood when the pressure becomes intense and my lack of patience when I feel like I’m running out of time. Finally jump rope is complete. which means my new goal is sit ups. i will see if i can knock em out by next week. if i do then i will reward myself by taking 1 day off
Today I am going to time myself on my requirements. I an really hoping to see an improvement from the last time that I did this. Yesterday I ran in the rain. I think that it feels better running in the rain because it cools you down. It keeps getting easier to run my mile and a half. I think that I am going faster than when the cycle started.

today i did everything before 11:00 and typed my empathy training i also answered some of my questions for the test
Finally the day is over. I am so happy I get to go to sleep and tomorrow watch football and take a brake. Today was very fun and very exiting. The sparring class with Master Mitchell is awesome.
Another cool day in Chicago. We went to my cousins' Bar mitzvas. pretty cool and I opened the arc. Afterwards there was food and a magic show. The magician did card tricks, slight of hand, and mind reading. Very cool. Then for dinner we went to my cousins' house. Food was good and I got to go to the park across the street to do pull ups and poomsaes. I'm not ready to go home yet.
Today I had a computer class, so I didn't make black belt class. I did get to sparring class, an have amentoring session with Master Mitchell. I also finished my mission statement essay. I didn't get to run today, and I'll have to pay for that tomorrow.
I went to Black Belt class today. I always enjoy it and learn much. I am also inspired and encouraged to keep pushing in my Tae Kwon Do journey and other areas too. It is difficult to be discouraed around that great group of people. I realize that I need to work on the Wang Ho 1 & 2. I need to practice so much that when my outside concerns sneak in that I can not be distracted or mess up. I really appreciated Instructor Lloyd and Master Hartle's (both) help today. I got up this morning, struggled through some pushups, situps, and burpees, and taught Little Tigers class. After class, Inst. Dege and I went for a walk. Since I wasn’t feeling well and I didn’t want to share my germs, I sat on the sidelines and watched BB class. It’s was really tough to sit and watch, I kept wanting to participate. At times, I found myself going through the motions from the sidelines. After BB class was over, I went home, took some Advil, and took a nap! I woke up feeling a little better. I did the laundry and a few more requirements. Since I slowed down a bit today, maybe I’ll be back to 100% tomorrow!
Today was a great day. I am felling a whole lot better than yesterday. But I am 70% better than what I was feeling yesterday. I could do my requirements without taking a break because I was congested. But I got through everything today so all I have to do is relax now. Today was awesome!
It is very close to the black belt testing and I am doing pretty good on every thing except for single stick form and hopceto self defense. I did another essay today so that means I only got 2 essays left and one of them I am doing tomorrow. Well I got to go see a movie because I got all my stuff done early! :-)
Today went pretty well. I did a lot of requirements, and I'm done for today. Camille and I ran to the golf course and back. Last week I was barely green on poomsae, so I'm catching up fast. I may be able to finish early, but I really need to work on my essays. Tonight if I have some spare time, maybe I can do some research.

yesterday my parents left me alone at the house to go to myrtle beach, so i have the weekend to myself. i woke up early because i was getting picked up to do community service at the Bain Daze festival at Fairview park. i got ready, got dressed, ate some cereal for breakfast, then grabbed my stuff and went to help out. i spent most of the time carrying things, setting up tents, the stage, the big tent, tables, chairs, and other things like coolers and bags of food. then i helped blowing up the inflatable soccer and basketball stations. the rest of the time i just worked at those letting kids play at each of them. i did see the KTMH demo team preform and they did good, my friends had only good things to say about them. once i was done i went home and mowed my neighbors lawn,...
i just finished with class and sparring. when we finished me and megan went to dairy queen. yahhhhhhhhh
Last night at dream team class we learned some new grappling moves. The first move we learned was called the guard. The way you do it is someone is going down trying to punch you, you lock your feet around their waist and then you have control of them because you have control of their hips. We also learned another grappling move called the mount. The way you do it is you get them on the ground, then you sit on top of their stomach and no matter what the person on the top has a longer arm. It is really hard to get out of a mount position.

Yesterday was not a productive day for requirements. Had a great day at work, got home and the intention was to knock out requirements before going to class. I sat down on the sofa for a minute just to unwind and next thing I knew - - sound asleep. Well I guess my body was telling me something and nothing I can do about it now. Went to Mint Hill and had a fantastic class. I am going to get this hapkido down eventually - -for some reason 12 thru 20 is all running together. Going to focus this morning on requirements then off to class at North Charlotte. Have to leave after class to get my husbands tailgate stuff together but hope to be able to work even more requirements in for the afternoon. Tomorrow night we have a 25th anniversary party so I have to be productive all day.
Today was the game truck night, at first we played dodge ball then the games. In the game truck I played mine craft and smash bros brawl. After that we played foot ball and started tackling each other. I was playing goalie with the ball in soccer and dived for the ball the person tripped over my face and now I cant feel my lip!
Wow, I forgot how cool chicago is. We arrived last night and today we went into the city. We toured the field museum and went shopping on the magnificent mile. My favorite exhibit was the one on bioluminescence, I learned a lot. We also went through exhibits on the pacific region and ancient egypt. For shopping I got to go to a big forever 21 store and a cool candy shop. Its hard getting requirements done and I'm pretty sure I'll get behind this weekend but it should be easy to make it up when I get home. Same for homework. Maybe I can write an essay on the way back.
Today I had black belt class at Lake Norman. I learned Wang Ho 2, and 1st Dan self defense. Now I know what I've been doing wrong and what I need to do. I need to stop bending my back leg on a front stance. Tomorrow I have computer class, then sparring class. Had tutoring early this morningbefore school, so I couldn't finish all my physical requirements. Came home and startedmission essay.
Today I went to black belt class and we worked on hapkido 11-20. I hope we work on it again so I can get the practice.
So far I only have 18 more of these and am almost done with every thing else I am writteng this at 10:00 at night but I need to finish these we onky have 27 days left so go strong.
Today I did a lot of requirements. I need to do sparring rounds and jump rope rounds and kicks and I'm almost done with meditation. I'm going to try to finish walking/running early, too. Tomorrow is the weekend, so I'll need to catch up a lot. I'm going to do a lot of research for my essay on the kwans, my essay on the white belt challenge, and check out my book for my book-reading essay, too.
today i was playing basketball with my friends. in the middle of the game i tried to catch the ball that my friend through to me. i missed the catch and it hit me in thet eye. i had to go home because i couldn't see.
Today I helped about at KTMH 5:45 class and got my leadership credits and got ,y leadership credits for the day. Then I took black belt class and we went over hapkito and some kicks. It is kinda fun getting thrown a lot. When I first started Tae Kwon Do I would have hated it but now I like it. TGIF EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!

Well I had soup for dinner – what does that tell you? Yep, I’m not feeling well. I’m stuffy, coughing, and I’m freezing. Luckily, I did my requirements this morning before work. So, I’m just resting and eating soup! My plan was to get a flu shot tomorrow so I wouldn’t get the flu before/during testing. Oh well. I should mention to everyone – if you’re training hard and not sleeping much – your immunity system is compromised. L Please make sure to take care of your health while you’re training. Get strong and stay healthy!
Wow! I can't believe that it is the end of day 53! I just had my last mentor session yesterday. I really appreciate all of the help that Master Cavazos has given me and everything that he has taught me. I hope that I can get at least one more meeting in before testing. I also want to thank all of the instructors who have helped me to learn my curriculum! I am so excited about testing but nervous too.
Today a baby came into black belt class and he was adorable. I had no idea that Master Hartle was a grandfather, I thought he was just a father. I got to poke his stomach and play with his feet. Master Hartle's son that came into class with the baby used to teach me TKD classes, I completely forgot about that.
Today was very relaxing. Did what was only needed for requirements and didn't force myself to go overboard. I had the opportunity to volunteer at a nearby Elementary School for my IB community service. It was amazing to see how much fun the children were having while reading books and playing on the computers. Now all I need is 39 more hours to be done... Tomorrow at Black Belt class I have heard we are getting the details to the demo thats being done at Freedom Park. Super excited to see what were going to be doing.
The end is so close I am so stressed with school so I am very happy. After this Is over I am going to take three year long nap:) so I can relax.
today was just a normal day except its FRIDAY all that really happened was i ran a mile before and after school and did my requirements
I overdid it yesterday. My toe was throbbing again last night and kept me up half the night. So I tried to be more careful and take it easy today. I hate all these requirements hanging over my head. It stresses me out. So I tried to do less that causes pain in my toe, but I'm so driven to get this stuff done that I prefer to be mentally tough and ignore the pain. It wasn't easy to stop walking after 3/4 of a mile, but I did. Sit ups and push ups don't hurt it at all so I will try to make up for the lack of miles with more of those.
Yeah it is Friday. I am also glad because I am feeling stronger. I still don't have much of an appetite but it is improving. I know I need to eat to have fuel to do requirements so I am trying to make the best choices to do so. I am really looking forward to Saturday Black Belt class as always but especially since I missed class last night at South Charlotte.
Today I went to the first Ridge Road Ravens football game. It was interesting but I had to miss Mock Trials. I was pretty mad about that because you can only miss one practice. Anyways while I was waiting for my parents after school (I did not know that I was going to Mock Trial Today), I started walking around and apparently I got in a mile, plus a half mile for walking around this morning. Then I went to Tae Kwon Do, (Don't ask me who won because I left early). At Tae Kwon Do we worked on self defense, so I need to practice it, ALOT! Then I went home, finished my requirements and did my homework. Who knew this could be so hard because I have a ton of homework and a TEST TOMMOROW! On top of that my legs are really sore from working hard in Black...
Today I was at TKD for 3 hours doing requirements and some extra! Also I did my men-ti meeting. We worked on rolls self defense and hook kicks. After that I had black belt class. We worked on self defense so we could memorize them for the black belt test. When I got home I had to play the cello for 30 minutes.
Had projects for school to do, so I'll need to go to black belt class in lake Norman tomorrow. Did my homework and some extra physicals. My push ups are definitely getting easier. The cycle is not easy, trying to find time to get it all done.
Today I made my first cartoon. It was called MAGIC! My friends and I play a card game called Magic and I love it. I did a fantastic job on the cartoon drawings and it had a great story line too. I was so excited to bring it home and show my parents. I tucked it safely away in my jacket, then I lost my jacket and my lunch box after lunch! I looked everywhere and it did not show up! I hope to find it at school tomorrow, it made me really sad.

This week has had it's up & downs and looking forward to a great weekend. Finding the balance between work, domestics and catching up to everyone else. It's all good and I will get there. After work, off to the dojang to work on requirements, then helped with the little tigers, they just crack me up, lead warm-ups for them then lead warm ups & punching for the adult class. Great class tonight!!!! Sometimes it's not just about warming up, learning and execution of techniques but it's thinking about what you are doing and trying to articulate it. today i worked only on poomsaes. every 3 poomsaes i did i did 30 pushups. i was really tired before i started so now i am extra tired. but i am happy for my brother because he had his first school football game today.
Today I had a sparring class at the Mint Hill location. We did drills and sparring. Today I had no homework because I finished it at school, so I was able to do a lot of requirements. It's definitely been a tiring day, but tomorrow I need to do more so I can catch up and get ahead. I'm going to try to get ahead on walking for right now.

Sparring at my school is really fun because I have a very awesome sparring teacher. It is Marcus and he has very fun sparring lasses with ladder drills and tag team.
The theme for the day, is "do what I can"...and not hurt myself further. I iced my toe several times today and did everything with care on my right foot. Pivoting on the heel of my foot slowly to avoid putting pressure on my toe, jump roping on my left foot only, etc. I can't wear any kind of shoe yet, but it is better. Heal toe, heal... Today I had a lot of thinking work to do so I got some extra requirements in while thinking through things.
Today I had my regular class. In the class we did 180 push ups and 180 sit ups. So we did alot. We also ran 1/2 of a mile did almost all the self-defense, and almost all the poomsaes. We got alot done. Then I had sparring class. We did alot of requrements in that class too. Now I am finishing up my homework. FUN!! :(
today i woke up just like any other day, tired. i got dressed, had bacon, pancakes, cheerios, milk, and a protein shake for breakfast, then ran out the door because i again was almost late for the bus but i got on it. i slept on the bus, but the bus driver kept switching the lights on and off but leaving the light on so it was hard to sleep. in first block we did an activity where we pretended one side of the rooms were solid color "cats" then the other were striped "cats", in the story we striped cats thought we were better so we didnt associate with the solid color cats, when the cats drew on stripes and joined us in being striped, we wanted to be different so we covered our stripes, this process continued. we did this until we couldnt tell who was striped or not...
I am usually really tired by Thursday (and today is no different), but I’ll be going to BB class and PMAA class. I think I’ve almost learned all of the knife disarms, one through ten. I wonder when I’ll know that I’ve learned everything I need to know for the test?? Usually after PMAA class my wrist is really sore. I guess it’s about time to go get it adjusted again. L I sent out some requests for donations for Levine Children’s Hospital today. I hope everyone is working hard to meet our goal. J Well, I’ve got to go get ready for class!
I really needed to be healthy and get some requirements done, however, my body has a different plan. I have whatever stomach or intestinal bug that Doug had Sunday. Too weak for much physical stuff. I can't afford to be sick. I have way too much to do. I will use this time to study my test and finish essays.
It has been a LONG day for me... I had a test in almost every class this afternoon and was up extremely late last night studying. Im planning on just going to a leadership class tonight so I can get some rest. I had to skip class yesterday do to schoolwork, so Im now just trying to get through today! Im still having trouble with my pull ups so now its all about building up strength and working on technique.

I can focus on other things now that I'm done with pull ups, but starting today, I'm practicing 8 daily or every other day to practice for the physical test. Today was never ending. I woke up fed the cats school then after school from my cello I got a blister on my right pointer finger. It was kinda heard to do puch ups with it. Then non stop home work that I slowly completed.

Busy crazy day yesterday. Took day off work due to am obligation, ran errands then off to S. Charlotte. Picture day so lots of energy and thought, what kinds of weapon should I pick for my photo. Spent most of the day there and worked on requirements between parent questions and class. Today I got to meet with mentor and think I am finally straight, straight not perfect, on a few things but much more to go. Struggling with some of the curriculum but I will get it figured out. Almost caught up on requirements so I am a very happy camper!!!! All is good just keep plugging away. Looking forward to weekend.
I'm excited to go to chicago but it will be hard to get all my requirements done. I joked that I can walk the marvelous mile (shopping) for requirements. But I am really excited. I haven't been on a plane in a while, but it will be nice to sit and get homework and such done without having to worry, oh I should be doing burpees. I do have to get ahead some though. Sparring class tonight was good, and now I'm working on the written test. I missed my alarm this morning, but thankfully I made it up. Well, got to go pack now!

I was reading people’s journal entries today and it occurred to me – it’s kind of sad that no one comments on any of the entries. Maybe Kelsey is right about no one reading them or maybe people read them and just don’t comment (like me)… I’m going to start making a bigger effort to comment. I think right now during the cycle is the time that people need encouragement. I know I do – and comments or private messages are a good way to provide some.
Yep....I definitely hurt my toe. Swollen and discolored. Couldn't run on it and even walking I can't put any pressure on it without a lot of pain. Every time I turned over last night I woke up from the pain too. Someone at work looked at it and thought it was broken, but it's a pinky toe so it really doesn't matter. I just need it to heal. I've been icing it on and off. So it looks like I will be walking a few miles instead of running the next day or so. I tried jump roping but based on the amount of pain, I'm thinking I'm doing more harm than good. I tried jumping just on my left foot, but then my shin splints were killing me. I will try again tomorrow.
Today was my day without Tae Kwon Do classes. I caught up on homework and I got to hangout with my friend. I had a lot of fun today.

today i woke up but had a slow start to my day so i had to rush at the last minute to get out the door. i got dressed, ate pancakes, bacon, a protein shake, and milk. then i got packed up and rushed out the door because i thought i was late, it turns out i ended up getting there right when my bus is supposed to come but the bus was 15 minutes late so i was standing alone in the cold for an extra 15 minutes and rushed for nothing. the rest of my day went better, in first block we took a vocab test on the words we have been studying and im almost sure i got it perfect, then we read more of "Kaffir Boy", there were some disturbing parts, i wont go into detail but i can assure you that you would not want to...
My legs are so sore today because we played some football and did drills for 1 hour and 45 minutes. and after that when i got home i crashed on the sofa...only to be forced to goto class and have master kim drill us
today i had to run 2 miles because i didn't run yesterday i also went to dream team we worked on handstands outside in and inside out kicks last we did 5 pushups sit ups then we monkey walked around the mat we did that 5 times it might not seem like a lot but after we had cramps
This morning my dad left to Seattle for my uncle's wedding. My other uncles came over last night. The best part is all I have to do till Friday is run,pull ups, and jurnle entrys.
Today is my best friends birthday, so unfortunately I cant attend any classes tonight because of her party. Im hoping to go in early tomorrow to fit in any Leadership credits that I can. It should be a fun class on Saturday because its at South Charlotte! YAY! I am going to try to make this a longer jouirnal because the most recent ones have been from my Iphone and I was limited to a certain number of characters for some reason. Last night was picture night at South Charlotte and the place was buzzing with noise. It was so awesome to see all the students so excited about their pictures. We had a great combined class with the Little Tigers and Jr. Wangho. Each Little Tiger was paired with an older child or an Instructor for the class. It was a great experience. I saw Dr. Bill yesterday about my knee. It was feeling great after I left. He is a great doctor. For some reason it was hurting this morning. I had another long day. I have a lot of homework to do, mainly for APES and HOTA. I got home and took a mini break, then I packed my stuff and went to work. It was a little chaotic because we had photos but it ended up being fine. I then drove to an orientation meeting for sunday school teachers helpers. i then got home around 8:30 and finished what I needed to get done.
i took off of classes today to have a day of rest. i am feel well rested and am ready to go. i actually had my first bit of homework from school yesterday, i love being a senior. im about to start talking to a recruiter soon. Wish me luck!!
Today at school, the work was a piece of cake, I mean oreos. I had a quiz which I got a 100% and in Math I got a good impression in order of operations. Then I had to learn about Good Vs. Bad and I started to think about when life is over should I be a Protagonist or a Antagonist. Then we learned about how you should be neat scientist. Last but not least I started to learn how to play violin, without the bow. I got to Tae Kwon Do but did not get to take class because I had Curriculum Night. I learned some stuff I did not even know. today i have a headache from practicing the same thing over and over again. i practice kuemgang, attack deffend, hopkeido and my self defence. tomorrow i wil make sure i practice something different. i will practice pullups and kicks i will make sure to do 600 kicks and 50 pullups.
Woke uP early. Did physical requirements. Went to school. Did homework. Then worked on my empathy essay. The essay was easier to write than last year. Putting your arm in a sling is a lot harder than being mute, so I had more to write about. I found out having only one arm is really hard.
Today in school for 1st block I learned about Neanderthals and watched a video on it. In second block we worked on b In being principled. I already learned that in TKD. In third block we worked on finishing classwork. Boring!!!!! In fourth block we read are new library books. Yesterday I did not get a library book because I was late. Thank goodness I brought my own book. In 5th block we played foot ball because its gym.( Foot ball) also boring!!!!!!!!!! In TKD I got extra requirements done because I got all mine done at 6 am. In black belt class we worked on basic forms for staffs. We also worked on our hopcito self defence and poom saes. And now I got all the time in the world to do whatever I want.(Are maybe 1 hour). I don’t really have much to say today. My body and brain are tired. I still have to go to BB class and then stay for PMAA class. (At least I don’t have to go to TKD Plus class.) I won’t get home until after 9:30pm and probably won’t get to bed until 11pm. The good part is I’ve already got my requirements done. J This is the time in the cycle where it starts getting a bit overwhelming. I need to remind myself that although this is extremely difficult – it will be worth it in the end!
I banged my pinky toe on my right foot tonight at PMAA class. Ow! Between the shin splints on my left leg, hamstring on my left leg, and pinky toe on my right, I'm feeling quite beat up. My toe is fat and I can't touch it without serious pain. I hope it heals while I sleep tonight.

Today I couldn't do all of my black belt stuff before class, so I had to do some before and after. I hard time with my forms. I couldn't square up during pal jung. I couldn't get my hands in the right spot for push-ups. My dad said I had a hard time focusing. I hope I can do better tomorrow. My dad is still proud of all my hard work though.
Today was just your average day on the cycle. Thank you Master Evins for giving us the class credits after the no electronics challenge! You are being very generous sir! Speaking of generous, while I was at a piano lesson, my mom ran into my old school's librarian at the store. My mom pulled out an extra raffle ticket for the panda and was about to write her number down for her. My teacher asked what they were for so my mom told her and she bought two tickets! I thought that was very generous of her.
I scored the first goal at soccer. We won the game 0-7. I had my first mentee session. It went good. I also helped out with class. Now I have to go do my homework.
Today I went to my normal class and got a lot of requirements done. Then I had a mentor session with Master Richie. We worked on self-defense and falling. I am not good at falling. Side fall and spin fall are the hardest for me. I am going to work hard to get better at them.
when i got home my cat was at the door wating for me. i sat down to do my homework. i was also writhing 2 paragraphs of why i think i should be in safty partol at school. i also was practcing my lines for drama club i am trying ou for sleeping bueaty.
Today i did my requirements at school.Also, i did Ta kwon do and a mentor sesion.
Today I walked and ran a lot. I didn't do as much as I wanted, but I'll probably get to do more tomorrow. I need to do essays and also I need to work on preparing for my neighborhood yard sale. Tomorrow I'll do some more research on the 5 original kwans.
today i woke up purposely later because i knew i didn't have to work out in the morning because i had gym today. i got out of bed and got dressed and almost forgot to get a second shirt to change into after gym. i went downstairs and i had a breakfast of waffles, bacon, frosted mini wheats, a protein shake, and milk, then i got packed up, ran to the bus, and caught it just in time because we had a new bus driver today who i knew would come early but forgot about it until the last minute, i found out many people missed the bus today because of this. in first block we spent most of the time messing around as a reward for being way farther ahead of her other classes in reading the book, we are on page 50 and the farthest any of the others...
Just a regular day of school and stuff. same old stuff nothing new, nothing good nothing bad. well i guess i'm going to scouts today and that's good but other than that yeah boring.
I just feel dead on my feet. Today has been nonstop. I had to leave school early to go to the doctor for an annual check up, where I got 3 shots. Then I went home briefly to work on homework for about 20 min, and I finally got the book for english which I am behind by 70 pages. So I have to read and annotate that. Then I picked up one friend to got to another friend's house to finish a video project due tomorrow. Then I drove my friend home and changed for TKD. Class was long as all monday classes are, but it was very helpful. Now I'm ready to shower, relax, and go to sleep.
